Bio
Since admitted to practice law in the State of Missouri in 1984, and in Illinois in 1985, James Ochs has tried in excess of 125 jury trials in the State of Missouri, Illinois and Florida. He has tried jury trials to verdicts in both criminal and civil matters in the Circuit Courts of 22 counties in the State of Missouri; in the Federal District Court of Missouri, Eastern District; the Federal District Court, Southern District of Illinois; the Federal District Court, Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division; and the Federal District Court, District of Kansas. He has tried well over 500 bench trials, including Family Law, Criminal Law and Civil matters. He has argued numerous Appellate cases in the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, Southern District and Western District, and the Supreme Court of the State of Missouri. He has also argued State appeals in the State of Illinois, U.S. Court of Appeals 8th Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit in Georgia.

- Wagner v. Wagner, 945 SW2d 689 (Mo.App.E.D. 1997) Won the right to hearing on ability to pay in a family law case.
- Townsend v. Townsend, 708 SW2d 646 (Mo.S.Ct.en banc 1986) Common-law doctrine of interspousal immunity is not a bar to claims for personal injuries inflicted by one spouse against another during marriage.
- Cromer ex rel. Cromer v. Tucker, 987 SW2d 470 (Mo.App.E.D. 1999) Judgment upheld in favor of changing custody from mother to joint physical custody with father.
- State v. Goforth, 721 SW2d 756 (Mo.App.E.D. 1986) Obtained reversal of conviction for Involuntary Manslaughter.
- State v. Ellis, 820 SW2d 699 (Mo.App.E.D. 1991) Obtained reversal of conviction for Deviant Sexual Assault in First Degree.
- State v. Battle, 32 SW3d 193 (Mo.app.E.D. 2000) Obtained reversal of convictions for Murder in the Second Degree and Armed Criminal Action.
- Woods v. Mehlville Chrysler-Plymouth, Inc., 198 SW3d 165 (Mo.App.E.D. 2006). Obtained reversal of judgment against car dealership involving alleged violation of Missouri Merchandising Practices Act.
